Dear Altoona Families,
I want to remind you that our PACE Hockey Over Speed Skating camp will take place July 12 - 16, 2020. Times will remain 6:00 – 7:20 PM each evening. We have five spots still available for this program. Also, if interested, our Johnstown/Ebensburg camp will be held the week of June 21-25 at the North Central Recreation Center in Ebensburg. Ice times are 5:30 - 6:50 PM each night. We still have a few openings in this program as well. With most hockey players eager to return to the ice, we view our programs as the ultimate opportunity to return to hockey form and also improve in the areas of skating stride, power, speed and quickness. While we will make slight adaptations to our format out of respect for the fact that most players have not been on the ice, not much will change for us. Today’s young player needs quality, yet affordable instruction designed to develop skating, overall skill and also confidence. That is exactly what our program will do. If you are not yet signed up, and want to register, please do so ASAP at www.pacehockey.com. I hope to see you soon!

Dear Altoona Trackers Families,
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe in these crazy times.
I would like to introduce you to the new AAYIHA Executive Board. Dan Pfeilstucker (President), Jill Breton (Vice-President), Nicole Panick (Secretary), Carrie Conrad (Treasurer) and Joe Nixon (ACE Administrator). The board members have been involved in the AAYIHA for many years and have players that span from U8 to U18. They have participated as coaches, team managers, score keepers, penalty box supervisors, and volunteers at various AAYIHA fundraisers.
Although the season has been put on hold as per USA Hockey, Mid-American Hockey, and PAHL guidelines, the Executive Board has been hard at work. Once we are given the go ahead we hope that business can pick up as usual. We have been working on practice slots, tryouts, jersey bids, etc. to make sure the season is ready when your players are allowed back on the ice.
The Mid-Am Hockey Association, as of May 7th, extended the suspension of USA Hockey sanctioned activity until June 15th. This is subject to change due to COVID-19 and restrictions placed on our area by Governor Wolf.
Please check the AAYIHA website for updates. Contact information for the current Executive Board is listed on the website. Please contact any of the members with any questions or concerns.
